Carol A. Burge
What I Do
"I am a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator in Family, Circuit Civil, County and US Bankruptcy for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.
My approach to mediation is simple, to help both parties craft the best agreement possible that addresses their individual and unique circumstances – not one imposed by a judge.
As a neutral and impartial mediator, my role is to facilitate communication and to assist the parties explore options that will lead to a workable and realistic solution to their dispute. Confidentiality is a hallmark of the process.
Mediation is quicker and less expensive than retaining an attorney. Depending upon the type of case, the dispute might be resolved within just a few hours of mediation.
In pre-suit, pro se divorces, you will develop a Marital Settlement Agreement which addresses your family's unique situation best - not one imposed upon you by a judge. In addition, you will receive all required Supreme Court documents needed to complete your divorce in just a few easy steps - without the costly services of an attorney and a prolonged process.
For Circuit Civil cases, mediation can help the parties resolve their dispute with your property insurance carrier, HOA association, neighbor or landlord / tenant. A non-adversarial, neutral approach is helpful when parties have an on-going relationship such as an owner, tenant, and HOA association."
What I Don't Do
I am not an attorney, nor a CPA, nor a psychologist. My role is to facilitate a resolution to the parties' dispute in a non-adversarial, consensual, and neutral manner.
Parties are advised that they may consult any and all experts as part of the mediation process, if so desired and / or required.
